Shop Hop Instructions
As you travel to the 10 different quilt shops, you will be collecting free patterns, enjoying treats and snacks, entering door prize drawings, shopping the wonderful fabric collections and having a FUN time! This year you will have FOUR days to complete the hop.
Pick up a passport and bag at your first shop. Complete the requested information on your passport. Be sure to get your passport stamped at each shop, and collect a playing card toward your poker hand. The GRAND PRIZE WINNER (best 5-card poker hand AND completed passport) will receive a $25 gift card from each of the participating shops! In addition to the grand prize, there will be many other great prizes, so be sure to turn in your cards and passport at the last shop you visit! In order to be eligible for prizes, you must go to every participating shop and get a stamp.
The poker run is played as follows: At your first five shops you will draw one card. You will immediately sign the FRONT (the value side) of each card you draw with your FULL NAME. You will use a permanent ink pen provided by the shop. Improperly signed cards will be disqualified.
At each of the remaining shops, you can hold your hand or choose to discard ONE card and draw another. You will not have more than 5 cards in your hand at any time. If you happen to draw a card you already have in your hand, that card will still be the only draw you have at that store. We want to be fair to everyone, and our rules are that you may only draw once per store. Make your decision carefully at your last stop.
Remember that ALL cards must be signed in permanent ink on the face of the card with your full name, and you must attend every shop in order to qualify for prizes.
Please note that we are playing as though there is only one deck. In other words, 2 kings of spades do not make a pair! Winners will be notified after August 9. The decision of our pit boss is final. If you follow the rules above, you will have no problems.
Players must be age 18 and over. Hoppers younger than that are welcome to participate in the other Crazy 8 Shop Run activities.
We want you to have a fun time. If you have any suggestions for us, please write them on your passport before turning it in at your last stop.
This year we changed the hop to four days. We will be open from 9-5 each day. If you are running late, please call ahead to ask the shop to stay open for you. We try to accommodate those requests. Phone numbers for each shop are on your passport.
